Since 1979 Dr. Carl Graf Hardenberg has advised foreign investment companies from outside and inside the European Union in the legally mandatory registration process for the public distribution of mutual fund shares in Germany, Switzerland and Austria and in the listing of closed-end investment companies on a German stock exchange.

The firm has also broad experience in structuring limited partnerships for collective investments.

Our services include all legal aspects of organizing sales agencies and distribution networks for financial products in the European Union.

Dr. Carl Graf Hardenberg was admitted to the bar in 1972.

He attended the University of Munich, where he graduated with the title of Dr. jur., as well as the University of Sorbonne in Paris.

Apart from German he speaks English and French.

He specialises in advising on the registration and compliance procedure of foreign investment funds, corporate and estate law as well as general litigation. He speaks at conferences and writes articles on investment fund matters. In addition, he serves as legal representative in Germany according to German Foreign Investment Fund Law for various reputable foreign investment funds.

From 1979 to 2003 he was a partner of HEIMANN HARDENBERG & BEYN Rechtsanwälte & Steuerberater in Hamburg. In 2003 he moved to Berlin and established his own law-firm. He is also an "of counsel" to BAUM Financial Services Law Team (www.fslt.de) in Hamburg.
